DNA Oligo Nucleotides
All oligonucleotides will be shipped free of salt, quantified and documented. Standard dry-cleaning with RP-cartridge;
every oligonucleotide (up to 50 bases) is assayed by Maldi mass spectrometry.
* oligonucleotides up to 35 bases, HPLC or PAGE not possible, no wobbles.
** Cartridge up to 70 bases, HPCL or PAGE up to 140 bases.
*** The lower amounts are guaranteed for a 20mer DNA oligonucleotide.

| Antisense drugs are designed to inhibit the production of disease-causing proteins and offer the potential to be highly selective in their action and less toxic than traditional drugs.
Antisense oligonucleotides, either as synthetic DNA or RNA, are oligonucleotides which have been modified in various ways. The purpose of this modification is to prevent oligonucleotide degradation within cells, and to increase affinity to the specific target mRNA. | These molecules function as efficient quenchers of fluorescence over the entire visible spectrum and into the IR, re-emitting their energy as heat rather than light. Probes made with BHQ™ dyes exhibit extremely low background noise and allow for lower copy sensitivity. BHQ-1 has a maximal absorption at 534 nm, and quenches most efficiently in the 480 to 580 nm range, where as BHQ-2 has a lmax at 579 nm, which enables it to quench fluorescence in the 550 to 650 nm range.

The RNA is provided with the sense and antisense strands in separate tubes. The oligos need to be duplexed by the end user. The 2´-OH protecting group has been hydrolysed to its native hydroxyl 82´-OH) form. DNA-overhangs are included in the duplex-price. |
